MINIMIZING HAIR LOSS AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY & RADIATION

Minimizing Hair Loss After Chemotherapy & Radiation

Although the emotional consequences of experiencing hair loss vary with each patient, most view hair loss as an added stress in dealing with a serious life crisis. . . . and wigs can only partially relieve the emotional stress from hair loss.

E.V.P.3 Chemaid is the first topically applied, drug-free treatment that is proven in clinical testing to help minimize excessive hair loss associated with chemotherapy drugs and to maintain the continued growth of hair.

E.V.P.3 works by protecting the delicate hair follicles from the toxic effect of the drugs by supplying them with essential nutrients that can be utilized by the follicles, keeping them in the growth phase, known as the anagen phase, as well as maintaining the tensile strength and elasticity of the hair.

Testing was carried out under the supervision of oncologists. All reported that E.V.P.3 did minimize hair loss.

The use of E.V.P.3 Chemaid with the following drugs, regardless of combination or regimen, proved successful in minimizing hair loss:

      5-FU                       Gemz
      Camptosar             Methotrexate
Carbo-Platin          Navalbine
Cis-Platin               Novatrone
Cytoxan                 Vincristine
                                           Doxil

WEEKLY REGIMEN
Adriamycin, Taxol & Taxatere

The use of E.V.P.3 Chemaid for patients receiving weekly chemotherapy of the above drugs has proven successful in helping to prevent excessive hair loss. Dosages given on a weekly protocol are lower as compared to the higher concentrations given on a 3-week regimen and, therefore, E.V.P.3 Chemaid in many cases can combat the toxic effect of the drugs on the hair follicles and keep them in the anagen phase and minimize hair loss.

THREE WEEK REGIMEN:
Adriamycin, Taxol & Taxatere

When Adriamycin, Taxol, or Taxatere is administered on a 3-week regimen, dosages are given in higher concentrations, as compared to weekly chemotherapy. The toxic effect of the higher dosages on the hair follicles does result in total hair loss.

BUT E.V.P.3 CAN STILL HELP––IT CAN GET YOUR HAIR BACK FASTER UPON COMPLETION OF CHEMOTHERAPY.

 GETTING YOUR HAIR BACK FASTER

Where total hair loss is experienced upon completion of the last chemotherapy treatment, with the use of E.V.P.3 Chemaid, regrowth of strong, healthy hair can be accelerated by bringing the hair follicles back into the growth phase faster, ensuring even regrowth over the entire scalp for healthy hair and eliminating the normally long delay experienced by many, which can be up to several months.

WHY IT TAKES SO LONG TO GET YOUR HAIR BACK
The reason it takes so long for the regrowth of hair to start again , especially when such toxic drugs as Adriamycin, Taxol or Taxatere are part of the protocol, is that, after chemotherapy, the body throws all of its energies toward restoring, as quickly as possible, vital bodily functions essential for survival. Hair follicles do not fall into this category, so the body does not waste any energy on them and simply shuts down production of hair.

 TESTING

E.V.P.3 Chemaid has been used for over 15 years by both men and women undergoing chemotherapy. E.V.P.3 Chemaid has been safety tested, dermatologist tested, clinically tested, doctor recommended, and is drug free.

E.V.P.3 is carried by the John Wayne Cancer Institute, has been mentioned in Good Housekeeping and in Nancy Brunning’s book, Coping With Cancer.
